ISLAMABAD: Federal government rules out any hike in the prices of medicines. Pharma Industry wants increase forthwith in the prices of over 250 medicines and it is not possible to increase the prices of medicines immediately. According to federal health ministry pharma industry wants enhancement in the prices of over 250 medicines but it is next to impossible to raise the prices of medicines immediately. The authorities said that the shortage of medicines is a pretext to pressurize government for hiking prices of medicines. All the medicines are earning profit to pharma industry except 8 to 10 medicines. According to authorities prices of medicines were increased from 14 to 20 percent this year. The decision to hike the prices of medicines can be made only by next elected government. First priority is to ensure supply of medicines to people.
