Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has said that in order to compete at the global level in the field of education, higher educational institutions of the province must pay special attention to quality and modern education.
There is no shortage of talent in Pakistan, today’s youth is our future and the government has to improve the skills of the young generation.
Governor Haji Gulam Ali expressed these views while presiding over the 12th Senate meeting of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar at Governor House Peshawar here on Thursday.
Vice Chancellor UET Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain, Special Secretary Higher Education Department Rashid Paindakhel, Principal Secretary to Governor Mehmood Hasan, representatives of the Finance Department, Establishment Department and other members of the University attended the meeting.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain briefed the Senate meeting regarding the overall performance of the university.
The meeting discussed in detail amendments to the university statutes and the annual performance report 2022 of the university .
The forum accorded approval to the amendment of the statutes regarding the educational qualification for the vacancies in Gems and Jewelery Center of Excellence of the University.
The university administration was instructed to submit the amendment to the Standing Committee of Higher Education to remove the reservations regarding the educational qualification.
Governor Haji Ghulam Ali said that no one will be discriminated against regarding house subsidy and house requisition and a decision will be taken according to the law.
