PESHAWAR
Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar, Professor Dr. Saeed Khattak, called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House here on Thursday.
During the meeting, they held an in-depth discussion on the promotion of higher education and improving academic standards in the province.
The Governor emphasized that the provision of quality education is the need of the hour and essential for sustainable development.
He said that universities must go beyond academic instruction by also focusing on character building and practical training of students.
Appreciating the contributions of UET Peshawar, the Governor expressed hope that the institution would continue to equip youth not only with technical education but also with strong moral and professional values to enable them to play an active role in the progress of the country.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Mardan Youth Parliament, led by former Mardan Nazim and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asad Kashmiri, called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House.
The delegation included Chairman Irshad Ahmed along with cabinet members Haider Mayar, Ghulam Habib, and Faisal Bakhtiar.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the upcoming oath-taking ceremony of the Mardan Youth Parliament.
Governor Kundi appreciated the constructive role of youth in leadership development and said that youth parliaments are playing a vital role in grooming future leaders.
He assured the delegation of his full support for their initiatives.
