Govt attaches great priority to females education: Ghani

Peshawar(PR):Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Monday said the provincial government has annulled age limit for females for getting admission in any degree program at university level.
He said the decision is part of the government’s efforts to provide maximum educational opportunities to females of KP, adding the government attaches great priority to females’ education.
Addressing as a chief guest at the 17th Convocations of the College of Home Economics at University of Peshawar here, he said the days are gone when the females were kept at homes and being denied the basic rights.
He said the importance of females’ education cannot be overlooked in development of a society and in this context, he said the provincial government is establishing new girls’ colleges all over the province especially in areas where females are facing problems in getting education due to one or the other factor.
Mushtaq Ghani told that two Home Economics colleges have been set up in District Abbottabad and Nowshera and one new commerce college for women also has been established in District Abbotabad, adding keeping in view the traditions and cultural values of KP province, the Government has established separate Women University in District Mardan.
Later, he distributed degree certificates and awards among the students and congratulated them and hoped that the college would continue with its pursuit of uplifting the standards of education and producing healthy, academically sound and vibrant citizens to the society.
Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Professor Dr. Rasool Jan, Secretary HED Faheem Wazir, Registrar UoP Dr. Fazle Hadi, Principal Commerce College Kaneez Fatima and parents of the students were also present on the occasion.
