Govt decides to send delegation to Washington to hold talks on promotion of trade, new tariff

Pakistan has decided to send a high level delegation to Washington to hold talks with US with reference to promotion of trade and new tariff.
A review meeting regarding enhancement in country’s exports and new tariff imposed by US on imports was held here Wednesday under Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif. Task was assigned by PM to delegation to work out mutually beneficial strategy for future following the talks on imposition of new tariff on US imports. PM said US-Pakistan trade relations span decades. Government is aspirant to further fortify trade partnership with US. The report of steering committee and working group on new tariff imposed by US and future strategy were presented to PM. Several alternative strategies were submitted in the meeting. The meeting was told that Pakistan embassy in US is in constant contact with US government. The meeting was attended by deputy prime minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb , Ali Pervez Malik, Syed Tauqir Shah and others.
