Govt has paid political price of IMF programme: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Finance Aisha Ghous Pasha has said that Pakistan is in constant contact with the International Monetary Fund, reiterating that the country wants to complete the IMF programme. Talking to media in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that the IMF is negotiating with the Federal Board of Revenue and the Ministry of Finance on the budget. “Pakistan wants to stay in the IMF programme. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also want to complete the IMF programme,” she added. She said, “We have paid the political price of the IMF programme.” DNA
