Govt investing in potential sectors to increase revenue: CM

A delegation of Asian Development Bank on Saturday called on Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and discussed ongoing development projects in various sectors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting reviewed progress and timelines of various projects, including road infrastructure, water, agriculture, energy, urban development, and health, in collaboration with the ADB and showed commitment to complete them on time.
The delegation also discussed the new projects to be started in the next three years were also discussed, with the possibility of early implementation if prerequisites are met.
A statement issued here stated that the delegation of the ADB also expressed willingness to release funds ahead of schedule for these projects.
Specific projects mentioned include KP Sustainable Urban Mobility, KP Rural Roads Development, KP Cities Improvement Project, and KP Food Security and Livestock Management Program.
Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur said that the provincial government emphasized its commitment to investing in potential sectors to increase revenue, including agriculture, livestock, tourism, minerals, hydropower, and housing.
“The goal is to create self-employment opportunities and put people on their feet. Infrastructure development and employment opportunities in merged districts are a priority,” he added and said that small dam projects, including CRBC, are crucial for permanent food security solutions in the province.
Gandapur furthered that the provincial government is introducing reforms to reduce the development project timeline from 13 years to 6 years.
The government aims to provide cheaper electricity to local industries and welcomes private investment in the sector.
Overall, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the KP government and the ADB to drive development and growth in various sectors.
