Islamabad: A grand and prestigious ceremony was organized at Hamdard University Islamabad Campus to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day. The Campus Director, Professor Dr. Umar Shahbaz Khan, was the Chief Guest of the event. The ceremony commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony and the national anthem, which was attended by faculty members, students, and university administration. The national flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Umar Shahbaz Khan, while the national anthem was also performed, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and national pride. The event aimed to promote patriotism, national unity, and awareness about the struggle for Pakistan’s independence.
Faculty members presented Milli Naghmay (national songs), adding enthusiasm and patriotic spirit to the celebrations. A special quiz competition between faculty members and administrative staff was also organized, in which participants enthusiastically answered questions related to the history of Pakistan, the Pakistan Movement, and national personalities.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Mumtaz Jaffery said that independence is a great blessing for which our elders made countless sacrifices. She emphasized that the younger generation is the future of the country and should play an effective role in Pakistan’s development through education, skills, and responsible citizenship. She also stressed the importance of promoting national unity, tolerance, and a sense of responsibility.
Chief Guest and Campus Director, Professor Dr. Umar Shahbaz Khan, in his address, highlighted the significance of Independence Day and said that the creation of Pakistan was the result of a long struggle and countless sacrifices. He emphasized that the principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline given by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah should be made an integral part of our practical lives. He urged faculty members and students to contribute to the progress and development of Pakistan through education, research, and positive contributions to society.
The ceremony also paid tribute to the struggle for Pakistan’s independence, the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement. The participants expressed their commitment to playing their role in promoting Pakistan’s security, development, prosperity, and stability.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the progress, prosperity, security, and stability of Pakistan. The grand Independence Day ceremony concluded with a strong spirit of patriotism, national unity, and commitment to the development of the country.
