The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in its latest report revealed that the graph of terrorism incidents in the year 2021 has drastically decreased compare to 2020.
DIG-CTD, Javed Iqbal, while sharing the annual report spastics about terrorism incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) said that compare to 2020, the year 2021 was satisfactory as the incident of terrorism have dropped down in the province.
In KP, a total of 237 terrorist incidents have been reported in 2021,whereas one of the major terrorist attack of Dasu suicide bomber was also took place in the same year, the report added. During the years, the CTD arrested 599 terrorists and as many as 110 terrorists were killed.
The CDT in the province for the first time conducted major operations against the terrorists and their hideouts across the province. During the operation the CTD personnel killed around nine high profile terrorists.
The reported noted that in the year 2021, CTD also carried out major operations against the elements involved in money laundering used in terrorism. Several high profile head money terrorists were arrested whose heads cost more than Rs 200 million.
According to CTD officials, anti-state elements have nefarious intentions to target the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), however, Pakistan army and other security agencies did not complete their nefarious designs.
