PESHAWAR
Haleem and Sarmad clinched the trophy of the Tangi Badminton Championship after defeating Abu Bakar and Mazeen Khan in the doubles final played at Muhammandan Public School Tangi on Sunday.
More than 70 players participated in this Championship. The final between Haleem and Sarmad and rival pairs of Abu Bakar and Mazeen provided great thrill for the sitting spectators wherein Haleem and Sarmad recorded 2-1 victory, the score was 21-19, 17-21 and 21-19.
Assistant Commissioner Tangi Muhammad Ibrahim was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. District Sports Officer Charsadda Tehseenullah and Malik Altaf Hussain of the District Badminton Association were also present on this occasion. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the position holders of the badminton championship organized by the District Sport Officer Tehseen Ullah at Tangi.
