President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi said that we shall have to design a comprehensive strategy to promote our cultural heritage at international level.
Dr. Alvi presided a meeting on Pakistan positive impact in International Fashion and Garments Industry. Senior officials and noted fashion designers from Lahore attended the meeting.
President said that we have to promote Pakistani dresses, garments, arts and crafts industry to increase our exports. Combination and harmony among all stakeholders of our textile industry is necessary for this.
He added that we should have to expand our fashion industry according to full capabilities. Academic-industrial relationships need to be promoted to give access to our local brands to reach global market. He further said that textile and garments sector of Pakistan is full of capabilities.
President held that we have to discover new markets for Pakistani textile products to increase our exports.
He said that we are taking firm steps towards ease of business and to encourage our exporters.
Different suggestions were considered during the meeting to uphold positive image of Pakistan through textile and artistic products by promoting local garments and fashion industry.
Views were also exchanged during the meeting to enhance cooperation between local and international garments brands and expansion of fashion industry.
President Alvi assured full support to Pakistani designers and praised their efforts for establishing Pakistani pavilion in Dubai Expo-2020.
