Hayatabad Police on Monday claimed to have solved a blind murder case committed by the close relatives of the victim.
According to ASP Hayatabad Nayab Raman, on February 18, 2023, a police team received information that a dead body was hanging from a tree at the Hayatabad Ministry of Science and Technology parking lot. Upon recovering the body, the police registered a case on an FIR registered by the son of the deceased.
Following the incident, a special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of female ASP Hayatabad Nayab Ramzan and launched a comprehensive investigation.
The team led by SHO Hayatabad Police Station utilized all resources and arrested the suspect involved.
Police said that the suspect was the victims’ close relatives who killed Awal Sher over a land dispute and tried to portray the incident as suicide. The arrested persons have been identified as Johar Ali and Subhan, who turned out to be the close relative of the victim. Hayatabad Police told reporters that during the initial investigation, while uncovering the real facts, the arrested suspects have confessed to killing victim Awal Sher and hanged him from a tree and tried to portray his death as a suicide.
