Provincial Minister for Health Khaleeq Ur Rehman on Wednesday directed authorities to expedite the digitisation of records during a visit to the Health Directorate on Warsak Road. Director General Health Dr Shaheen Afridi and other officials were present on the occasion.
During the visit, the minister inspected various sections of the directorate and reviewed the existing record management system. He was briefed by the director general on the functioning of different sections, including record maintenance and administrative procedures.
Officials also gave a detailed presentation on the organisational structure, staff strength and responsibilities of various units within the directorate.
Expressing satisfaction over the overall performance, the minister emphasised the need to transition towards a fully digital record system, stating that modern technology was essential for improving efficiency, transparency and timely service delivery.
He observed that reliance on manual records often caused delays and directed that the development and implementation of digital systems be completed at the earliest.
Mr Rehman also instructed section heads to ensure strict monitoring of staff attendance and stressed the importance of facilitating doctors, nurses and paramedical staff across the province to enhance healthcare services.
