CS Shah inspects schools, health facilities in Peshawar

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah on Wednesday paid surprise visits to educational institutions and health facilities in the provincial capital to assess the quality of public services.
He was accompanied by the additional chief secretary, secretary elementary and secondary education, and secretary health during the inspections.
The chief secretary visited the EPI dispensary in Shaheen Muslim Town, Government Primary School No. 2 Gulbahar, and Government Shaheed Ahmad Elahi Technical Higher Secondary School Gulbahar.
During the visits, he reviewed the academic environment, student attendance, teaching process and availability of basic facilities in schools, as well as healthcare services, availability of medicines and cleanliness arrangements at health centres.
Mr Shah also interacted with patients and their attendants to obtain feedback on medical treatment and facilities, and spoke with students about their studies and related issues.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the provincial government was focusing on improving public service delivery, adding that the health and education sectors had been prioritised under the Good Governance Roadmap on the directives of the chief minister.
He said priorities for the upcoming fiscal year were being aligned with public needs to further enhance basic services across the province.
The chief secretary also urged citizens to share suggestions with relevant departments to help improve service delivery in the health and education sectors.
