Health Department will take concrete steps to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability within the healthcare system: Khaliq-ur-Rehman

Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq Ur Rehman chaired an important meeting to review the financial matters and operational challenges related to the Sehat Sahulat Program, along with key issues faced by various public sector hospitals in Mardan region.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of the Sehat Sahulat Program Riaz Tanoli, the District Health Officer (DHO) Mardan, and other senior officials concerned with the implementation and administration of healthcare services in the district.
During the session, a comprehensive briefing was given on the current status of funds, pending payments, service delivery challenges, and administrative bottlenecks affecting hospitals under the Sehat Card framework. The CEO highlighted financial constraints and operational requirements necessary to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services to the beneficiaries.
The Provincial Health Minister assured the CEO and relevant authorities of the timely release of funds and reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening the Sehat Sahulat Program so that patients continue to receive quality and free-of-cost medical treatment without disruption.
He emphasized that public welfare remains the top priority of the government and that all necessary measures will be taken to address financial and administrative issues on a priority basis.
The Minister also held a detailed discussion regarding the performance, infrastructure needs, and service delivery gaps of hospitals in Mardan region. He directed the concerned officials to resolve outstanding issues promptly, improve coordination, and ensure better healthcare facilities for the people of the district.
Concluding the meeting, Khaliq Ur Rehman reiterated that the Health Department will continue to monitor the situation closely and take concrete steps to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability within the healthcare system, ensuring that the people of Mardan receive uninterrupted and high-quality medical services.
