Faced with rising retail petrol costs, drivers across the capital are adopting practical measures to protect household budgets and make every litre count. Domestic petrol prices reflect a mix of international market movements, taxation and exchange rate effects. Nevertheless, many residents reported immediate increases at the pump and adjusted daily routines to reduce fuel use and control expenses. “Efficiency matters more than ever,” said Ustad Amir, a mechanic in Khadda Market. “Smooth acceleration, maintaining steady speeds, and switching off engines at prolonged stops can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20 percent. ”Commuters in other sectors of capital like F-10, G-9 and G-13 described changes including carpooling, consolidating errands into single trips, and conducting pre-trip tyre checks.
