Hearing of super tax case adjourned

ISLAMABAD
Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has adjourned till January 26 hearing of super tax case. Asma Hamid counsel for FBR completed her arguments.
A 3-member bench of FCC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Amin ud Din Khan took up the case for hearing Friday.
Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar counsel for FBR took the plea in his arguments that section 4-B of tax ordinance has been declared in order by the court in 2022. Section 4-C of tax ordinance is in force after 2022.
Asma Hamid counsel for FBR said Supreme Court (SC) had vacated stay order of Lahore High Court (LHC) on super tax.
SC had ordered tax payers to deposit 50 percent tax to FBR.
CJ Amin ud Dain Khan inquired some new petitioner had come to fore in Islamabad High Court too.
Counsel for FBR Asma Hamid told the court most of them were old petitioners and some new tax payers had joined them.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till January 26.
