The Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) has announced its complete and unconditional support for the Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) in the upcoming Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) elections, marking another significant boost for the business group ahead of the polls.
The announcement was made at a ceremony held at a local hotel, where PHMA Chairman Abdul Hameed, in the presence of members of his executive committee, welcomed PIAF Patron-in-Chief and PPB Alliance Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar and other PIAF leaders and formally declared his association’s support for PIAF.
Mian Anjum Nisar was the chief guest at the ceremony, while LCCI President and PIAF Chairman Faheem-ur-Rehman Sehgal also attended as a special guest.
The PIAF delegation included Vice Chairman Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, former LCCI president Muhammad Ali Mian, LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Faryal Chairman Shahbaz Aslam, and executive committee members Mubashir Naseer Butt, Moazzam Rashid, Toufiq Sherwani and others.
Representatives of the PHMA, including Shafiq Ahmad Butt, Naseer Ahmad Butt, Aslam Ramay, Muhammad Mansha, Rana Riyasat, Muhammad Amin, Khawaja Musharraf and others, were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Mian Anjum Nisar, Faheem-ur-Rehman Sehgal and Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh said that PIAF had remained at the forefront of serving the business community for the past three decades, and its record of service was the main reason why trade bodies, business organisations and individual entrepreneurs were increasingly joining and supporting the platform.
They said the business community ultimately votes for performance and service, and PIAF had built its identity through its consistent efforts to represent the concerns of traders and industrialists.
The PIAF leaders said they would continue to pursue the resolution of business community issues at every available forum and would go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the concerns of the private sector were effectively raised before the relevant authorities.
They said the growing support for PIAF reflected the confidence of different sectors of the business community in its leadership and its commitment to resolving issues facing industry and trade.
PHMA Chairman Abdul Hameed said his association would work alongside PIAF to raise a stronger voice for the resolution of the problems confronting the business community.
“We will join hands with PIAF to strengthen the struggle for resolving the issues of businessmen and industrialists and will fully support the organisation in the forthcoming LCCI elections,” he said.
He said the PHMA’s support for PIAF would be full and unconditional, adding that the association wanted the issues faced by the hosiery and manufacturing sectors to be effectively represented at the Lahore Chamber and before government authorities.
Abdul Hameed urged the LCCI and PIAF leadership to give greater attention to the concerns of the business community and ensure that its voice was taken to the relevant departments and higher authorities.
He said the PIAF and Lahore Chamber platforms provided an effective channel for businesses to collectively highlight their problems and seek practical solutions from policymakers and government institutions.
The PHMA chairman also praised the commitment and energy of Mian Anjum Nisar, saying that his dedication to the business community had played an important role in attracting people from different sectors and communities towards PIAF.
