ICCI, business community close ties crucial: Nasir Qureshi

Nasir Mansoor, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has said that the Chamber is the true representative body of the business community and that traders’ must maintain a hesitation-free liaison with it for the resolution of their problems.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the pressing concerns of the business community and developing a favorable business environment for the ease of doing business.
Talking to different business leaders who visited the Chamber to felicitate him and other office bearers, Nasir Mansoor emphasized the crucial role of the business community in the country’s economic development and its right to have government support in overcoming obstacles to prosperity and progress.
He said that ICCI is collaborating with key stakeholders like the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Electric Supply Corporation, (IESCO), Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Police Department for the resolution of traders problems like encroachments, street lights, sanitation, thefts etc. as well as for the up gradation and beautification of business centres for the benefit of all the stakeholders in a befitting way. Nasir Mansoor also advocated for a rational taxation approach by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), focusing on broadening the tax base instead of overburdening existing taxpayers.
He said that to enhance the efficiency of the Chamber, he plans to digitize its operations, streamline membership procedures along with focus on promotion of entrepreneurships, startups to drive business growth and job creation in the region.
