Upgradation of secondary school teachers (SSTs) was approved by the provincial cabinet on January 1, 2023. Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sent the upgradation case to the finance department for implementation. The finance department issued the upgradation notification.
Instead, by adding the upgradation case to the agenda of the provincial assembly again, an attempt is being made to turn out the SST cadre upgradation case approved by two-thirds majority from the former provincial cabinet, which will be strongly defended, taking away the words from the mouths of the teachers. Instead of improving the economic condition of the province, the finance department should implement the austerity policy, provincial ministers, bureaucrats and other institutions should reduce their expenses.
These views were expressed by the Provincial President of SST Welfare Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfikar Ahmad, Provincial General Secretary. Farhad Ali Tucker and Provincial Spokesperson Javed Iqbal Pashora while talking to the media representatives regarding the inclusion of the SST Cadre Upgradation case in the agenda of the Provincial Cabinet. So lakhs of teachers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be on strike in Peshawar by closing the schools.
He further said that the Peshawar High Court has also issued clear orders regarding the SST cadre upgradation case, despite this, the Education Department and the Finance Department have not issued the notification.
Unnecessary delay tactics are beyond understanding. He said that the former provincial education minister Shehram Khan Tarkai had approved the Teachers Upgradation Bill from the Provincial Assembly with a two-thirds majority and congratulated the teachers in advance and the teachers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have congratulated Shahram Khan Tarkai as Mohsin teachers, but despite all these steps, the Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Finance Department not issuing a notification and including a mature case again in the agenda of the provincial cabinet is enmity with the teachers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He warned the teachers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that They should be fully alert, God willing, if the SST cadre upgradation case is turned out in the provincial cabinet meeting held on August 6, then on August 7, the government employees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be on strikes in Peshawar and we will continue our protest until the notification is received.
