An important meeting held here on Tuesday with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid in the chair, reviewed prevailing law and order situation across the province and assess ongoing security strategies.
According to an official statement, the meeting held at Central Police Office (CPO). Additional IG Operations Mohammad Ali Babakhel, Additional IG Special Branch Kashif Alam, Additional IG Headquarters Abbas Ahsan, Commandant SSU Ghulam Mubashir, DIG Operations Shakir Hussain Dawar, CCPO Peshawar Dr Mian Muhammad Saeed and DIG Headquarters Abbas Majeed Marwat attended the meeting.
All regional and district police officers participated via video link.
Addressing the participants, the IGP said eliminating terrorism and lawlessness remained the foremost responsibility of the KP Police.
He directed officers to further strengthen the human intelligence network to effectively track down terrorists and criminal elements.
“We will bring every perpetrator and facilitator to justice through robust intelligence and proactive policing,” he said.
The IGP instructed the officers to formulate a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming holy month of Ramazan and ordered a security audit of mosques and other places of worship to ensure the safety of citizens during prayers.
KP police chief directed the force to provide foolproof security to foreign nationals, particularly Chinese engineers and tourists working and travelling in the province.
The forum was briefed on security arrangements for the ongoing anti-polio campaign.
Reiterating the police’s commitment to protecting polio workers, the IGP directed that daily security reports be submitted to his office.
Mr Hamid further emphasized the need for enhanced coordination with other law enforcement and security agencies to dismantle criminal networks and thwart any potential threats.
Urging officers to maintain an unbiased, professional and coordinated approach, the IGP said the ultimate objective was to transform KP into a “cradle of peace” through merit-based and sustained law enforcement.
