Islamabad (Online): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday gave two weeks time to NADRA authorities to submit reply regarding termination of its contractual employees and adjourned the hearing of the case.
A single bench of IHC headed by Justice Ather Minallah conducted the hearing of the case.
The court has expressed its annoyance over the absence of NADRA authorities during the hearing and observed that reply should be submitted on next hearing.
It was adopted in the petition that in 2010 hundreds of employees in NADRA from Balochistan province were recruited on contract basis. Out of these employees, dozens were made permanent; however some 40 contractual employees including disabled men and women were terminated from service, the petition added.
The counsel of petitioners has informed the court that after termination of contractual employees, advertisement of recruitment was also published in the newspapers and prayed to reinstate the sacked employees.
