IHC declares formation of sugar inquiry commission, its report legal

ISLAMABAD, August 18 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected Sugar Mills Owners intra court appeal against inquiry commission in sugar scandal case.

The court announced the reserved judgment on intra court appeal filed by Sugar Mills Association (SMA).

A division bench of IHC comprising Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Lubna Saleem Pervaiz announced the decision Tuesday.

The IHC declared the composition and report of inquiry commission legal. Division bench of IHC upheld single bench verdict of this court.

The counsel for SMA had raised objections over formation of inquiry commission in intra court appeal.

Earlier single bench of IHC had rejected SMA plea.

The counsel for SMA while raising objection over non issuance of notification over formation of commission timely had filed intra court appeal.
IHC had constituted division bench comprising Just ice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Lubna Saleem Pervaiz on the request of SMA.

This bench had reserved judgment on July 24 after hearing the arguments from both sides.
