ISLAMABAD : Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed the petition filed by A and O level students against physical examination.
The court declared the petition non maintainable.
Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah of IHC announced the reserved judgment on Friday.
The counsel for the petitioner took the plea his petition is not against Cambridge. Cambridge gave two options. Saudi Arabia, Thailand and India have opted for online examination rather than physical examination.
The CJ IHC remarked “we can issue no directives. We send the application to NCOC. Interfering in the policy matters of the country is not job of the courts. Many matters related to corona virus have come so far we have not interfered in the NCOC policy decisions. Pakistan government on the other hand can not issue any directives to Cambridge. Government only provides facilities regarding the examination here.
The CJ IHC inquired from the counsel of the petitioner do you want government stops them from holding the examination. There are 9 petitioners in your petition. May be the other thousands of students want to appear in physical examination. 9 petitioners cannot be representatives of thousands of the students. Do the children not want to take examination. How these students are who don’t want to take examination.
