Bhara Kahu bypass project
Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has extended stay order in Bhara Kahu bypass project matter till next Friday. The case against construction of some part of Bhara Kahu project on Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) land came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Mian gullhassan Aurangzeb Monday. Kashif Malik, the counsel for university professors appeared in the court. Kashif Malik told the court now CDA has adopted new stance that it was land meant for road and it was given to university. CDA has changed its stance after 60 years. QAU has called CDA but CDA has refused to come. The court remarked the reply of respondents has come. We will decide about it after hearing the case. The court resumed the hearing after interval. The court was told that Sufian Abbasi and others residents of Murree, Bhara Kahu and Kashmir are also respondents in this case. The court inquired is the Bhara Kahu bypass project violation of Islamabad master plan or otherwise. Is federal government authorized to change master plan. Online
