Audio leaks case
ISLAMABAD
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned DG IB and DG FIA in person in audio leaks case. The court has issued notice to all mobile companies.
FIA has sought time from court to probe into the matter of call leaks of PTI leader Latif Khosa and Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder.
Audio leaks case came up for hearing before IHC Saturday. Justice Babar Sattar heard the case. He has issued written order in this regard.
In the decision IB has been directed to conduct investigation in this matter and file detailed report thereof that the audio tape of Latif Khosa and Bushra Bib was leaked. Who leaked it. Who is account holder.
IHC directed DG IB to appear before it in person on next hearing.
It has been said the court has inquired DG IB should tell who can carry out surveillance of the citizens. Has state of Pakistan capability to stop this illegal surveillance. How can the recording and surveillance of phone calls be conducted.
FIA sought time from the court in connection with investigation into this call leaks matter.
IHC has also summoned DG FIA in person on next hearing.
Notice has been issued to chairman PTA to appear before the court in person on next hearing.
The court has inquired what steps can be taken for preserving the calls and data of mobile phone users. Chairman PTA and Members PTA should file affidavit about its correctness along with report.
It has been said in the court’s order report be presented in regard to legal intervention on hearing or recording telephone calls in telecom operators license.
The court be informed in regard to correspondence made with PTA, Intelligence agency or law enforcement agencies with reference to this matter. Tell us what is procedure for sharing the data of mobile phone users with any state authority.
