Peshawar
A fire incident occurred today at an industrial unit in the Peshawar Economic Zone, despite all necessary fire control measures being in place within the facility.
The fire, which broke out in the early afternoon, was promptly responded to by the Economic Zone’s internal rescue team, equipped with two fire engines and ambulances. Firefighting teams and Rescue 1122 arrived on-site within minutes.
KPEZDMC teams were on the ground from the outset, coordinating efforts with local government agencies. Full support was extended by the Commissioner’s Office, Civil Defence, and firefighting teams from both the Peshawar and Khyber districts. Emergency response teams have been working tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring units. Teams also alerted nearby industries to remove any chemicals and flammable materials that could have escalated the situation or caused the fire to spread further.
No casualties have been reported. All teams are continuing to work closely with relevant authorities to fully contain the fire, which has been reduced but not yet extinguished. By evening, Pakistan Air Force fire engines also joined the operation, using petroleum-based extinguishing foams to combat the fire fueled by chemicals.
Relief experts are hopeful that the fire will be fully controlled by tonight.
