PESHAWAR: A meeting presided over by Chief Executive Pesco Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai was held at Wapda House Peshawar. Chief Engineer Operation Mohsin Raza, Chief Engineer O&M Shabir Ahmad, Superintending Engineers of Peshawar, Khyber, Bannu, Swat, Mardan, Abboatabad and Mansehra Circles attended the meeting.
The progress regarding in photo meter reading was particularly discussed and the poor response in this regard was criticized .CEO directed the field officers to fully implement photo meter reading so that over billing complaints should redressed. CEO directed the field officers to decrease Line Losses and increase Recovery otherwise they will be dealt with iron hands. CEO directed to replace damaged distribution transformer immediately in good areas where losses are less and Recovery is good. CEO also directed to replace immediately all single and three phase defective meters. He said that the increasing Line Losses is the main cause of Pesco\’s deficit.
Drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks was discussed and important decisions were taken in this regard. CEO Pesco ordered no one should be spared who is involved in power theft, as due to power pilferage Pesco\’s distribution system is over loaded on one side and on the other side Pesco\’s Line Losses increase.
CEO Pesco issued strict instructions to all Xens to speed up the drive to curb the power pilferage.
Similarly revenue collection from defaulters was also discussed and important steps were ordered in this regard. Chief Executive PESCO has directed the Pesco Technical Staff to adopt all precautionary measures to avoid electrocution and electric shocks for their own safety. He directed them to ensure the safety measures with letter & sprit.
