Important decisions in the 14th syndicate meeting of Mardan Engineering University

The 14th Syndicate meeting of Engineering University Mardan was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Imran Khan. Members holding crucial roles in the university’s administration and academia participated in this meeting.
The attendees included internal members of UET, as well as external members from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Finance, Establishment and the Higher Education Department of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Usman, the Registrar of UET Mardan, presented the agenda items of the syndicate.
The meeting addressed critical matters and made significant decisions to advance the progress and development of UET Mardan. The Syndicate approved the recommendations presented by the Finance and Planning Committee 7th meeting. These recommendations focused on effective financial management and strategic planning, aiming to ensure the university’s fiscal stability and future growth.
The 14th Syndicate Meeting at UET Mardan exemplified the commitment of the university’s leadership and stakeholders to drive progress and development. By approving the recommendations of the Finance and Planning Committee and the Academic Council, the Syndicate demonstrated its dedication to effective financial management, strategic planning, and continuous improvement of academic policies and programs.
The syndicate also approved the establishment of a Quran and Islamic center, declared the Quran course compulsory for engineering degree, evening classes of computer sciences and approved the economic reforms of the university. Meanwhile the seventh finance and planning committee meeting of the UET was also held and chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Imran Khan.
After comprehensive deliberations, the committee provided decisions and recommendations to enhance the efficient operation of the university. Ms. Anila Faheem, Deputy Secretary, Finance Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Javed Iqbal, Additional Secretary, HED; Zaheer Abbas H. EC nominees, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Usman, Registrar, Engineer Sajjad Ali, Director of Planning and Development, Prof. Dr. Abrar, Chairman, Computer Software, Dr. Murtaza, Treasurer and Academic Council representative Dr. Muhammad Alam participated in the meeting.

The comprehensive agenda of the meeting included discussion on important topics like financial reforms, investment proposals, fee structure for the computer science program (evening shift), salary hike and pension for employees, and austerity measures.
