Imran Khan and his minister Fawad Chaudhry was planning to auction PTV and give its rights to ARY, Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday.
Inquiry has been initiated to bring the agreement to court.
She said the agreement causes millions lose to PTV sports and the character involved in the agreement will be dealt by law, as the damaged national broadcasting institution, which is the voice of Pakistan.
Fawad planned to economically kill PTV, she said, as they made an agreement with ARY on the name of cricket rights, she also added, in 2018 they congratulated each other while attacking PTV.
PTV is bearing the result of former government and they tried to auction PTV and radio Pakistan, said Maryium.
We made fact finding committee in April 2022 and after taking over the government we came to know that they made an agreement with ARY and M group, she said, other broadcaster came due to PTV and PTV sports was the only institution to generate revenue.
She said that signing the Cricket rights agreement with other channel was to compromise on PTV’s rights.
This was first time PTV sport told PTV board that they don’t have revenue to acquire the rights as the institutions 100% rights are owned by government, she said, PTI destroyed progressing economy of PTV.
Former government was heading to auction PTV, She said, and the advertisement was published on 10 August 2021 newspapers for bids regarding Public and Private things to ask for expression of interest to convert PTV sport from SD to HD.
