Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif has said our desire for peace be not construed as weakness.
Our armed forces have capability to counter every threat and our desire for peace be not construed as our weakness”, he said this while addressing the passing out parade of 117th Midshipman and 25th Short Service Commission course at Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi Saturday.
The nation is proud of our armed forces for making the defence of the coujntry impregnable, he held.
A befitting reponse was given to those who .threatened Pakistan in sea and air, he added.
Equippting the Pakistan Navy with latest technology for safeguarding maritime borders of the country is top priority of the government, he underlined.
Joint ventures with friendly countries will add to its capability, he observed.
Government will provide all necessary resources to Pakistan Navy, he held. The development can be achieved only in peaceful atmosphere.
Quaid-e-Azam wanted Pakistan to be role model for the world, he said adding we can achieve our standing in the comity of nation with hard work by learning lesson from our past mistakes.
A delegation of MQM called on PM at Faisal Base. The MQM delegation during the meeteing complained about non implementaiton of agreement reached with PML-N. The matter of appointment of governor in Sindh also came under discussion.
MQM delegation comprised Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Amir Khan, Kanwar Naveed Jamil and Wasim Akhtar.
