ISLAMABAD
PTI secretary general Suleman Akram Raja has said Imran Khan has nominated Mehmood Khan Achakzai opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) and Azam Swati opposition leader in Senate.
Suleman Akram Raja said this while talking to media men outside Supreme Court (SC) Wednesday.
He added they will have to arrange our meeting with Imran Khan. We are waiting for expiry of holidays period . Our contempt of court case is fixed for hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
He went on to say IHC has issued order in regard to this meeting but it is not being implemented.
PTI founder has left the matter with reference to by polls on political committee of party. PTI political committee will meet today evening and decision in this regard will be made therein.
Suleman Akram Raja said PTI founder has sought five names for opposition leader in Punjab Assembly (PA). One among them will be decided.
Imran Khan has nominated Mehmood Khan Achakzai as opposition leader in NA and Azam Khan Swati as opposition leader in Senate. Mehmood Khan Achakzai is head of Opposition grand alliance.
Election Commission had issued notification about disqualification of Omar Ayub after court’s decision. Both the leaders have resorted to Peshawar High Court (PHC) against this decision.
