Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said Wednesday PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan was enslaved to his own ‘stubbornness’, alleging him of using charity money for political purposes.
“We are focusing on country’s rehabilitation and reconstruction after deadly floods,” Iqbal said while talking to reporters outside Islamabad’s Accountability court, adding that the government was working to restore country’s agriculture system.
Taking a dig at his party’s main political rival Imran Khan, the minister said PTI Chairman was maligning national institutions for his own politics. “Army’s helicopter gets crashed and Imran starts maligning army the same evening,” he said.
The minister said PTI government could not prove any corruption charges against him. Referring to a recent verdict, Ahsan Iqbal said the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had nullified the Narowal Sports City Reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him. He said Imran Khan’s government only had one agenda – to politically victimize opponents.
Ahsan Iqbal criticized Imran Khan for running a political campaign and holding political rallies at a time when the nation was facing a calamity. “I don’t know what kind of heart this man has – as he is doing politics at such crucial times,” he lamented.
