Says PTI chief was spreading lies about rivals but caught red-handed
ISLAMABAD
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that Pakistan’s first certified liar and thief has been disqualified with irrefutable proofs of theft.
Reacting to the disqualification of Imran Khan on his Twitter handler on Friday, she said that the man and wife had looted the national exchequer jointly. Maryam Nawaz said: “As big as the theft is, the punishment should not end only with disqualification.
He should be arrested and brought before the law and the looted money should be recovered.” She said that Thanks Allah, the certified thief who used to accuse others of being thieves has met his end.
Thanks to Allah, the certified thief who used to accuse others of calling others thieves and thieves has met his end. “Today, not only the theft has been proved against him, but the proofs are undeniable. He has been proved to be the first certified thief of Pakistan with the evidence,” she maintained.
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while reacting to the ECP verdict, have said that Imran Khan has been caught red-handed and the punishment should not end with disqualification only.
In his tweet, Bilawal Bhutto said “Election commission of Pakistan has found Imran Khan guilty of corrupt practices. He now stands disqualified. He who would spread lies about alleged corruption of his political opponents has been caught red handed.”
Commenting on the disqualification of former prime minister Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Tosha Khana case, Federal Minister and PPP leader Sherry Rehman said the ECP had given the decision as per law and that the PTI should not give it any twist.
She made it clear to the PTI leaders and workers that Imran was not the first politician, who had been disqualified. “Another former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had been declared ineligible for holding any public office only because did not inform the concerned authorities that he had not received the salary,” she said, and claimed, “Imran’s case was not different from that of Nawaz, and there could be no two different decisions in the case of the same nature.”
Sherry was of the view that the PTI demanded two sets of laws: one for itself and the other for its political opponents. She said that the PTI leaders, instead of threatening the ECP and calling it names, should discuss the legal aspects of today’s verdict.
The federal minister said how ironical it was that that very man who called others ‘thieves and thugs’ had himself proven to be ‘corrupt’.Talking to media persons after announcement of judgment in front of ECP, PML-N leader Barrister Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said he was expecting that after the decision, Imran Khan would also be imprisoned for three years under Election Act.
Ranjha said Khan had initiated politics of allegations and now was himself a proven thief resulting in disqualification from politics and still would have to be accountable for 2018 onward filed returns before ECP.
The PML-N leader further said that Imran Khan was declared guilty of corrupt practices because he had sold gifts he acquired for pennies from Toshakhana and made the Nation fool by labeling allegations of corruption against his opponents.
Speaking on the occasion, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi said that today was a day of happiness for Pakistan and its people.
President PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rahman had 10 years earlier declared Imran Khan as a Jewish agent and lobbyist, he added. Today’s ECP decision had proved in front of the whole world that Imran Khan was no more “Sadiq and Ameen” but a traitor, he said.
The JUI-F leader said that Imran Khan had caused damage to this country and its population. He has derailed the country’s economy with his wrong policies. He said “Imran Khan who calls other thieves has been declared as a liar. Now we have to clean Pakistan from a traitor and Jewish lobbyist”, he added. =DNA
