Islamabad capital police Industrial Area Zone police teams arrested 602 outlaws including 113 members of 46 criminals gangs and recovered looted items worth Rs 18.31 million, including gold ornaments, mobile phones, vehicles, motorcycles, drugs, liquor and weapons from their possession during the last four months, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, special tasks were assigned to the zonal DPO’s and police teams to arrest those involved in heinous crime and recover the looted items.
The Industrial Area Zone police teams conducted a massive crackdown against the criminal elements and succeeded in apprehending 602 outlaws including 113 members of 46 criminal gangs during the last four months.
Police teams also recovered 23 vehicles, 16 motorbikes, 93.751 kilogram hashish, 4.073kilogram heroin, 25 gram cocaine, 320 gram ice, 60 liters liquor, 82 pistols, 08 rifles and 02 Kalashnikovs with ammunition from their possession.
During the crackdown against professional beggars and their handlers, police teams also arrested 312 professional beggars and their handlers.
IGP Islamabad said that it is the prime responsibility of police to provide relief to the citizens and every possible effort would be made to ensure it adding that eagle squad and falcons are playing its effective role in crime prevention.
He also appealed to the citizens to call Pukar-15 about any suspicious activity and cooperate with its police.
