The student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Insaf Student Federation and Insaf Youth Wing have announced that they will take a leading role in the party’s protest scheduled for November 24 in Islamabad.
Insaf Youth Wing (IYW) senior representative, Shafiq Afridi, speaking at the convention in Peshawar, emphasized that the student body would take the lead in organizing and clearing routes for convoys heading to the federal capital for the march.
The convention was organized jointly by ISF and IYW in Peshawar in connection with the PTI protest in Islamabad.
Shafiq Afridi assured the media that the protest would remain peaceful and that the ISF would play a pivotal role in its success.
The convention, held to mobilize support for the upcoming demonstration, was attended by numerous party leaders and government ministers, showcasing a unified front.
Preparations for the Islamabad march and protest are underway at the college and union council levels, with 2,000 members of the ISF set to lead the “final call” protest, he said and added that the students wing of the party are committed to turn the march into a significant demonstration of support for PTI founding Chairman Imran Khan.
“We will prove that our party’s founding leader, who is held on fabricated charges, will be released,” Afridi claimed.
It is noteworthy that Imran Khan has issued a final call for a protest in Islamabad on November 24. The spokesperson for the PTI government, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, stated that preparations for the Islamabad protest are in full swing across all constituencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr Siaf in a statement stated that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has directed all elected representatives to intensify mobilisation efforts within their respective constituencies to ensure maximum participation in the November 24 demonstration.
According to PTI Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram, the protest is aimed at voicing opposition to the government’s policies, particularly the recently passed 26th Constitutional Amendment, which the PTI describes as unjust, along with grievances over arrests and alleged electoral irregularities.
Bushra Bibi, the spouse of PTI founder Imran Khan, during her deliberations in Peshawar related to the ‘final call’ has reportedly cautioned party leaders that their performance during the planned protest in Islamabad on November 24 will directly influence their chances of securing tickets for the next general elections.
Also, addressing party officials and provincial parliamentarians in Peshawar, Chief Minister Gandapur stressed the importance of maximum mobilization at the grassroots level to ensure the success of the upcoming protest.
The meeting, chaired by Gandapur, brought together PTI members from the Hazara, Malakand, Peshawar, and South regions, focusing on strategies to enhance participation and coordination for the November 24 protest in Islamabad.
