At 04.17 local time on 5th June, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the south eastern country of Turkiye impacting city of Gaziantep, Southern Osmaniye province, the tremors of which were felt in Ankara and nearby regions.Notably, Osmaniye is a city on the eastern edge of the Cukurova plain in the southern part of Turkiye and the capital of the province of Osmaniye and in area of northwest Syria.More than 4000 people were killed and thousands injuredin both Turkiye and Syria.Syrian state media said more than 100 people were killed and dozens injured there, most in the provinces of Hama, Aleppo and Latakia, where numerous buildings had been brought down.
