Int’l powers should play role for economic stability in Afghanistan: Shaukat

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Human Rights Shaukat Yousafzai Tuesday urged the world community to unfreeze the accounts of Afghanistan and play a role in economic stability and peace in the country.
Addressing a seminar here at a local hotel on protection of rights of women and children, he said that Afghanistan was passing through a critical situation and the International community should have to come forward and help Afghanistan by removing sanctions and accepting the Taliban government.
Regarding Women and Children rights, he said that the KP government was taking pragmatic measures for protection of women and children rights, adding the government has introduced several legislations in this regard.
He said that early age marriages not only cause health issues for the females but also result in violence against them. The provincial government would soon run an awareness campaign to curb the incident of violence against women and child marriages.
Shaukat said that consultations were underway with Ulemas and legal experts to finalise bill against under age marriages, adding that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was working for protection of women rights and to ensure their equal participation in every walk of life.
