Int’l women’s day observed at Frontier College for Women

An event marking International Women’s Day was organized by Hum Log Organization here on Saturday in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and with the support of Government Frontier College for Women, Peshawar.
The ceremony was held at the college auditorium where Principal Dr. Shaheen Umar welcomed the guests and participants and appreciated the initiative aimed at highlighting the role of women in society.
Chairman of Hum Log Organization and President Minority Forum Pakistan, Augustin Jacob, introduced the organization and its objectives.
He paid tribute to women around the world, particularly those in Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for their contributions to society. He also thanked the Directorate of Youth Affairs for its support in organizing the event.
Speakers including Naz Parveen, Bushara Furkah and Fiaza Shahzad shared their views through speeches and poetry, emphasizing the importance of women’s empowerment and their role in building a progressive and inclusive society.
Students of the college presented skits portraying the significance of women’s participation in different spheres of life and highlighting their contributions to social development.
Chief Guest Associate Professor Dr. Azra Ghani, Head of the Department of Urology at Lady Reading Hospital, underlined the importance of respect, equity, diversity and inclusion, particularly in the context of Pakistani society.
She appreciated the efforts of the college administration and Hum Log Organization for arranging the event to honor women and promote awareness about their rights and contributions.
