LAHORE: Spokesman for Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Wednesday said that for one year former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan kept levelling allegations against the country’s army chiefs and other senior-most officials of the Pakistan Army. Reacting to PTI chairman’s statement which he gave to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that when the time came to give proofs to substantiate his claims that former army chief General (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa was behind attempt on his life, he had none. “He told the JIT that he had heard from people that some senior officials of Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies were after him,” Chohan said, and added, “Thus he tried to poison the minds of entire nation against the country’s army just on the basis of hearsay.” He was of the view that these were the statements that finally culminated in violent incidents on May 9. IPP spokesman went on to say that in Islam accusing somebody of murder and that, too, without giving evidence is a major sin. “Imran should seek apologize to people for levelling accusations against the army’s top brass without giving proofs,” Chohan concluded.
