FPCCI’s Presidential candidate Atif Ikram Sheikh on Tuesday said Senator Ishaq Dar has the ability to deal with economic challenges and he will take the country out of the whirlpool of economic problems.
The second finance minister of the current government will face historical inflation, flood damage and instability but the biggest problem will be to improve the value of the rupee which he will manage successfully, he said.
Ishaq Dar has been the finance minister thrice in the past but never in such a serious economic situation, he added.
In a statement issued here today, Atif Ikram Sheikh said that the foreign exchange reserves are insufficient and the revenue will also fall due to the flood while the social sector expenses will have to be increased to help the victims, which will be a test of his abilities.
He will also deal successfully with the IMF to reduce the tax of 7200 billion rupees, while the issue of inflation will have to be tackled as it will play important role in the upcoming election.
