PESHAWAR
The provincial minister for science and information technology Atif Khan said on Monday that the provincial government has launched a number of projects to improve the coverage and quality of public service delivery through technology intervention, adding that digitalization of various sectors will broaden the scope of provincial’s economy and transparency in service delivery system.
He said that projects including E-Governance, District Level Citizen Facilitation Centers, Pak Digital City Haripur, Gandhara Digital Complexes Peshawar and Swat, Applicable Digital Skills, KP Super App and ICT Facilitation Centers were in the final stages of completion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He expressed these views while chairing an important meeting about the ongoing projects of the information and technology department.
Secretary science and information technology department Khalid Khan, managing director PIT-Board and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
The forum discussed the progress so far made over the projects initiated for the digitization of the public service delivery system under the different provincial departments.
Atif Khan issued instructions to quarter concerned that pragmatic steps should be taken for timely completion of all projects, adding that KP has been moving on fast track in the field of science and information technology, adding that youth of the province will benefit greatly from the completion of the above mentioned projects.
“The Provincial government has taken a number of key steps for the promotion of the information and technology sector in a very limited time and it also provided a very feasible environment to foreign and local investors in the field,” he claimed.
Atif Khan maintained that major international companies have shown keen interest to open their offices in KP and some of them have already opened their sub-office in Peshawar.
