Islamabad: The Government of Japan has awarded MEXT Research Scholarships 2026 to eleven outstanding Pakistani students, enabling them to pursue higher education in leading Japanese universities. The announcement was made during a reception hosted by Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Akamatsu Shuichi at his official residence in Islamabad, where members of the MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan and new scholarship recipients were honored. The scholarships, offered under Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), will support students in pursuing Master’s and Doctoral degrees, further strengthening academic collaboration between the two countries. Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Akamatsu congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to remain curious, open-minded, and courageous during their academic journey in Japan.
