FAISALABAD: The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) on Friday expressed concerns over growing cases of ‘child abuse’ and sex crimes. “Unless these brutal criminals aren’t punished, the society can’t get rid of such barbaric crimes,” JI’s provincial Naib Ameer (Vice-chairman) Sardar Zafar Hussain Khan said in a statement. The JI leader suggested religious laws and punishments could be the best solution to such crimes. “Those who criticize Islamic laws for being cruel have pushed us into such situation today,” he said. Zafar said those who follow ‘Western and secular’ systems are responsible for spreading ‘vulgarity and immodesty’ in country. “Growing impudence and vulgarity are creating more and more problems for country,” he lamented.
