ECP failed to ensure transparency in the local body polls in provincial capital: Nasira Ebad
PESHAWAR
Secretary Information Women Wing Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Nasira Ebad on Saturday condemned Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for “ stealing mandate” of its party in recently held local government election in Karachi, saying protests of JI outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) building in Islamabad was a wise decision taken by Siraj-ul-Haq. She alleged that ECP failed to ensure transparency in the local body polls in Karachi and criticized the senior leadership of PPP for creating hurdles in the way of smooth elections.
In a statement issued here JI women wing leaders Inayat Amin Saba, Humira Bashir and others accused PPP for stealing the mandate of Karachi through a systematic rigging.
All the parties in the PDM believe in undemocratic politics, and cannot see any other party in power, they added and said that rising inflation and unemployment have alienated the incumbent government from the masses.
JI would bag majority seats in upcoming general elections as the other political parties have failed to deliver and lost the trust of people across the country, JI women leaders added.
Nasira Ebad maintained that the solution to the country’s problems lies with JI and alleged PPP for weakening the role of ECP to hold transparent polls.
