Former provincial minister and senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Inayatullah Khan has strongly condemned the federal government’s potential move to impose Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In a statement issued here on Thursday, JI leader called the federal cabinet’s support for this action “undemocratic” and stressed that it lacks moral justification, especially considering the public mandate granted to the current provincial government in KP.
He emphasized that JI would vigorously oppose such a decision, viewing it as an undemocratic attack on the people’s mandate.
“Any democratic political party should find it shameful to support Governor’s Rule,” he said and stated that political disputes should be settled in the political arena rather than through authoritarian measures.
Inayatullah Khan pledged that JI would raise its voice against this undemocratic move at every available forum.
