Nikola Jokic delivered a sensational performance, scoring 56 points and grabbing 16 rebounds, to lead the Denver Nuggets to a thrilling 142-138 overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves here at Ball Arena on Thursday.
n a high-octane encounter, Jokic was the standout player, dominating both ends of the court and providing a series of clutch plays down the stretch.
His scoring prowess and ability to control the game in overtime proved crucial as the Nuggets narrowly triumphed after a back-and-forth contest that saw both teams exchange leads multiple times.
Spencer Jones also played a key role in the win, contributing 12 points and 8 rebounds in 41 minutes.
Peyton Watson added nine points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 17 points, also playing 41 minutes. Jamal Murray contributed 16 points to further bolster Denver’s offensive output.
For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards impressed with 37 points and 6 assists, but it wasn’t enough to halt the Nuggets’ momentum. Rudy Gobert’s 18 rebounds were a highlight for Minnesota, but the team’s lack of support in key moments left them short despite their best efforts.
