Pervez Musharraf appeal pleas
ISLAMABAD
Justice Athar Minallah has raised many important legal and constitutional points during hearing of appeals from former president Gen(Retd) Pervez Musharraf.
He remarked to his opinion the matter of punishment of former president Pervez Musharraf is still there. It has not been suspended. In the event of decision against Pervez Musharraf the matter of his pension and privileges will rise.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa remarked the court has stopped giving unnecessary adjournments now. We are giving you adjournment but we are not giving it happily.
The CJP gave these remarks while presiding over a special bench during hearing of the case Tuesday.
The CJP remarked if there is no interest in appeals then we will dismiss it.
Suleman Safdar said he does not want to pursue these appeals.
The CJP remarked it is not a civil case where directives are required to you. This is a criminal appeal and if it is dismissed being not persuaded then negative impression will go.
The CJP got written the decision remarking that Suleman Safdar is given time to contact family members of Pervez Musharraf in connection with directives.
The lawyer Suleman Safdar is directed to provide contact numbers of heirs of Pervez Musharraf.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till today (Wednesday) .
