In a major breakthrough in the province Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan become the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court for one day as he took oath on Friday as acting Chief Justice and surprisingly retiring on the same day with a Full Court Reference held in his honor, paying him rich tribute.
In this connection a Full Court Reference in the honor of Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan was held with Senior Judge Justice Miss Musrat Hilali, Advocate General, Additional Attorney General including Bar Presidents and Lawyers participated in the Full Court Reference.
Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan said as Judge I tried my best to deliver justice. “I am grateful to the lawyers who have respected me during my services,” Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan said.
“Quran also teaches justice and fairness, Allah Almighty will ask about justice,” Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan added. Judiciary and lawyers have a glorious past, he said, adding, the lawyers of our province have a special place.
The role of lawyers in the restoration of judiciary is prominent, Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan said. A strong judiciary requires a strong bar, Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan said. Equipping the judiciary with modern facilities is the need of the hour, he said.
“I have tried to provide basic facilities to the prisoners including starting digitalization and virtual courts, “ Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan. “I provided biometric and other basic facilities for inmates in various jails,” Acting Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan said.
The prisoners were connected to the courts through video link, Acting Chief Justice Rooh Ul Amin said.
He said law is a vast discipline and no one can be an expert in it while education is power and legal education is very important.
“I am thankful to my personal government staff who supported me during my service and I am also thankful to my family who supported me during my employment,” Acting Justice Rooh Ul Amin Khan.
Acting Chief Justice Rooh ul Amin Khan was born on April 1, 1961 at Chamkani Peshawar and completed his LL.B from Khyber Law College, University of Peshawar before graduating from Govt College Peshawar and his secondary education from Govt High School School Chamkani.
