Peshawar: The district administration in Karak has stepped up efforts to ensure the availability of petroleum products and strict compliance with official prices, following the directives from the provincial government and Deputy Commissioner Karak Asad Sarwar. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sahibzada Samiullah chaired a meeting with the relevant officials and representatives of the petrol pump association to review the supply of petrol and diesel in the district. The meeting was attended by the DSP Headquarters, Assistant Director Industries, Tehsildar Karak and other stakeholders. Officials discussed measures to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products, sale at government-notified prices and the accuracy of fuel measuring systems (gauges) at petrol pumps. The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the petrol pump owners to strictly follow official price lists and warned against hoarding or creating artificial shortages. He also directed that petrol and diesel must not be supplied to individuals involved in illegal mining activities, emphasizing that violations of Section 144 would lead to strict legal action. Following the meeting, Samiullah, accompanied by the DSP Headquarters and Assistant Director Industries, inspected several petrol pumps in the district. During the visits, officials checked the accuracy of fuel gauges, availability of petroleum products and compliance with official rates, while warning that strict action would be taken against any violations.
